Darlene's creativity is influenced by her early years travelling to Mexico & Indonesia, as well as her time spent drawing and studying art & art history in Greece, Italy and England.

She uses a painting method of traditional application, enhanced with layering, to create texture. Her uses of brush, palette knife and her hands to apply mixed media and oil paint on canvas reveals surprising forms.
